Armed & Female, Paxton Quigley.  $6.00  The best intro to firearms book I've read.  Covers pretty much every question a beginner might ask & many neat examples of women protecting themselves.  Not just for women!  Buy this to loan out.

Self Protection / CCW

In the Gravest Extreme, Massad Ayoob. $12.00  If you are thinking about carrying a concealed weapon, or arming your home this is a must read. It makes the reader aware of the legal aspects of using lethal force to defend our families and ourselves.  Massad has many books out, is a professional witness, 18yrs as a police officer & has a training school.  Keep in mind that he was a cop and says things like carrying concealed weapons is a privilege, not a right.  (Amazon Reviews)

The Whole Enchilada

Boston's Gun Bible, Boston T. Party. $28. 726pages. "Boston's Gun Bible" is, without a doubt, the very best book on firearms ever published. It is what a gun book SHOULD be: practical, honest, comprehensive, logical, intelligent, up-to-date, witty, accurate, and downright ENJOYABLE to read. (Amazon Reviewer) (See jpfo.org special deal for only $14!)

Politics / The Debate

More Guns, Less Crime, John Lott. $9.60  This is by far the most comprehensive study ever done on guns. It provides extensive evidence on waiting periods, the Brady Act, one-gun-a-month rules, concealed handgun laws. (Amazon Review)

History of Freedom in America

That Every Man Be Armed : The Evolution of a Constitutional Right, Stephen Halbrook.  $19.95  Hailed by many as the best distillation of the twin rights of the individual and militia to keep and bear arms.

Historical Lessons

The Defiant; A true story. About 5 times in the book I was enlightened about something I had never thought of.  The author is the main character, it is based on his diary written as a 14 year old Jewish boy in Poland from 1939 to 1946. Far different from the books that just try to enlighten you to the horrors.  Enlightenments to watch for and ponder: 1) It wasn't just Hitler who hated Jews. There were Germans, Russians, Polish in the city, Polish in the farmland.  2) Poland was split in half with Russia taking half. The people were suddenly under socialism. The penalty for practicing capitalism was up to life in a work camp. Despite that, EVERYONE practiced capitalism. Kids, Grandmas, everyone. Quite the indictment against socialism.  3) You really can live out a winter up to 30 below zero without food or supplies. 4) The family ALWAYS failed to grasp the situation & ALWAYS reacted at the last possible hour. BE AWARE! ACT!  *The Jewish people had a culture without firearms.  Those few who did possess arms gave them up to the government....

Philosophy

Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand.  $8.95, $17.95, $38.95 Available in two sizes & hardback.  This is the 2nd greatest book I've ever read.  A novel extolling the virtue of striving for greatness and freedom and the forces which seek to strike them down.   Ayn was born and raised in Russia under Socialism which sucks the life out of man and moved to America which was founded in Freedom and the Capitalism which allows the freedom to strive for success.
